Keith Slater is a great example of Norwich’s inherent passion for, and understanding of, great music. Born and raised down the road in Beccles, Keith has lived in Norwich on and off for over 40 years. By day he runs a small building and renovation business, and by night he DJs locally as well as across Europe at Tropical Shakedown parties. Keith has been an avid vinyl collector since the age of 14; he’s heavily into soul and jazz, but also collects tropical music from Africa, the Caribbean and the South Americas which is the mainstay of his DJ sets. The support he has been given from friends and fellow DJs locally has been key to his 40 years of musical success.
Keith lives 10 minutes walk from the city centre and loves the fact that you can walk and cycle almost anywhere easily. His top recommendations are Saturday brunch at The Workshop off Earlham Road and food at The Mediterranean on Magdalen St.
Catch Keith at Tropical Shakedown, Norwich Arts Centre on May 2018, where he also hopes to host Analog Africa in future.
