Maverick one man band Thomas Truax from New York plays eccentric , otherworldly sounds on homemade instruments such as “The Hornicator ” and “Mother Superior”. You get darkly witty songs accompanied by weird Harry Partch-esque home made instruments. An exceptional talent, unique and resistant to comparison.
"When he performs, it is a spectacle - the originality and seeming impossibility of what he does is much of the appeal." -The Guardian
" His gigs are extraordinary, fizzing with showmanship." –Q
Gladboy are an experimental pop trio who formed after meeting at UEA and discovering a shared adoration of music and literature from across space and time. After months of loose jamming sessions centred around Sonny's jazz influenced drumming and George's stream-of consciousness lyricism, the band recruited Adam Bentham on bass and began to refine their sound. With Adam at the helm as producer, the band recorded their charismatic debut single ‘Weight of Expectation' all in one night.
“The band describe their sound as junkadelic, which hits the nail right on the head… At times they remind of an embryonic Blur, with an anarchic experimentalism that is fighting to find a darker side. One to watch”.
THE TUPPENY BUNTERS
A two piece piano driven act. Trashy moon style drums behind an amped up honky tonk piano. A mercurial performance from 2 songwriters with up front tunes that take in music hall, 60s pop, early prog, punk, garage and Tony Hancock. Screeching vocals, spiky staccato runs, criss cross harmonies over Bach chord lines. Vintage gear and The Fool's wardrobe.
