Norwich has been a literary city for 1,000 years: it was home to the first provincial library, the first newspaper, the first female journalist, the first Creative Writing MA, and more recently, became England’s first UNESCO City of Literature.

Central to this story is the National Centre for Writing: an organisation of creatives who understand the life-changing power of words. Based in the beautiful medieval Dragon Hall, they work to explore the artistic and social power of creative writing and literary translation through events, workshops and opportunities that are made available to communities in Norwich and all over the world.
